Lions and Tigers and Mon Chéri, Oh My!

While Zola is still kicking every Monday night on our schedule, we’ve had a couple other happenings and some new shows popping up here and there! We’re also starting to book shows for 2010, and can’t wait for the new year to begin!

So we played in both Seattle and in Bellingham again over the past couple of weeks and had some really great, and some not so great experiences. Underground Coffee House in Bellingham had a surprising amount of people for a Friday night on a college campus (I really expected everyone to be out partying!) and the audience, though extremely chill compared to the usual bar scene, was responsive and clapped along with us, or tapped their toes and sipped their coffee 🙂 The staff was great, the sound was awesome, and we had an overall amazing time. Luckily no near death experiences happened on the drive this go-around (even with the snow on the Pass)! Thanks to all that helped make that show happen, we look forward to coming back!

As for the Seattle show, we had a great time at Egan’s Ballard Jam House, but we can’t say that playing at The Mixx in Georgetown was worth our while. I really wouldn’t recommend that anyone play there, ever. If you’re intrigued shoot us an email and we’ll explain, but it really isn’t worth your time or effort, trust me.

We also played a wicked Halloween show in the midst of our travels, and let me tell you, dressing up as Zombie Beatles and covering Beatle’s songs in front of a bunch of drunk costumed people is SO MUCH FUN!

Now we’re home, I (Caroline) am done being sick, and we’re all ready to forge on with our shows! We also got exciting news on our arrival: We’re going to be opening for Eric Hutchinson next Monday (November 23rd) at the Knitting Factory! How awesome is that?! Doors open at 7:00, we play at 8:00, but then we dash over to Zola to do our usual evening set 🙂 So if you don’t catch us at the Knitting Factory, come to Zola!

We’ll also be playing some private parties here and there, but perhaps MOST exciting is the fact that we’re RECORDING! Yes! We’ve already finished drums, we got the guitar part almost completely smoothed out, next we’ll get Kurt’s bass cleaned up and then we’ll get Parker’s keys laid down. Once all that is done we’ll start with vocals, and we’ll knit-pick away until we’re completely happy with our new E.P.! No release date has been set yet, but keep your eyes and ears open for a kick-ass release party! Fun times to come!

That’s all for now. We’ll keep you updated on new ventures, but don’t forget we’re still at Zola every Monday night, from 8:30 to 11:30, and admission is FREE!

We also hope you are ALL doing well, and that this cold Spokane weather isn’t getting you down. If you ever need a warm up, just come dance with us, seeing as how no matter where we are, a dance party always seems to be a necessity.  🙂

Cheers!

Caroline

  1. What would be the best time to show up tonight? I’ve got a big old stack of cards with your band’s name on them.

  2. Lacy

I was so happy to see you guys in Seattle. I can’t wait for you to come back. Russell will be here in March. I will look around to see if I can get you a gig here then.
    Take care!
